The Emerson CQC-15 is a hybrid of two of our most popular and classic models: The Commander and the CQC-7B. The piercing point of the Emerson CQC-7B and the graceful cutting efficiency of the Emerson Commander, the CQC-15 is born.
This knife sports a comfortable, secure, ergonomic handle gives you the best of both worlds. The Emerson CQC-15 is truly one helluva knife. It features a tanto/recurve blade combo that suits its use in any environment, from the boardroom to the deployment staging area.
This knife has already hit the streets of Baghdad and has been moving quick and quiet. This knife is a sturdy, aggressive tool that will definitely get you out of a jam if you ever need it.
KNIFE ANATOMY
HOW TO USE THE WAVE FEATURE
An important part of knowing the anatomy of an Emerson Knife is knowing how to utilize it. Using the patented Emerson Wave Feature correctly, you can deploy the knife out of pocket rapidly. It takes some practice to master. See how it's done in the video above.
BLADE STYLE: RECURVE/TANTO
The CQC-15 features this blade and is truly one of our most unique designs. The belly of the blade shows off our recurve edge but abruptly ends at a sharp angle giving it a nice Tanto tip.
Fun Fact: CQC-15s are basically a fusion of the CQC-7BW and the Commander.
Standoff Spacers have been standard on all Emerson Knife models since 2014. Any knife ordered from our site from that year will receive one of these models.
Lanyard Holes serve one purpose: attaching a paracord lanyard if you choose to get one. We get asked that question quite a lot!
The Thumb Button is there so that you may open the knife single handedly . Specifically with your thumb. Some people are naturals at it and some have to learn. Either way, it's very useful.

My second Emerson. CQC7A a friend/Person stole it. Hmmm. CQC 15 Excellence in Action!. DOC 91C

I found Emerson through a friend who was in the special forces. After seeing him post several Emersons, I visited the site and was shocked by the prices. Decided to go for it anyways and went with the CQC-15 because, if I was gonna go for it, I was gonna go for it.
This knife if perfect in every way. Perfect weight, perfect size, perfect blade, and the wave feature is mind-bogglingly good. The blade has been used every day for three years and never sharpened, and somehow it is ridiculously sharper now, after years of use, than any other new $200-300 knife out there . . . and I’ve never sharpened it.
I honestly don’t understand what sort of wizardry went into making this knife, but it is perfect in every way.

Ever look at the sexy curves of the Commander and say to yourself, “This is great, but I wish it was pointier..” Say no more, fam! The CQC got that pointy fix that you don't just want, you NEED! Typically great Emerson ergos and a slightly less dramatic recurve compliment the aggressive tanto tip perfectly.

The cqc 15 is by far my favorite knife I carry it for my edc and my work knife, I have abused this blade! I used it when I did my house remodel and it never let me down! If you wanna see the blade and what I have done check out my Instagram hard_use_reviews!

The GOAT. Please offer the CQC-15 in OD green so I can have an excuse to purchase another one. .

The 15 was my first Emerson knife. If I am honest, it me a long while to warm up to the chisel edge but when the XHD-15 came out, and a flipper version no less, I had to try it! I have been carrying this knife for many months now And I’m still amazed at how easily it flips open and how bulletproof a design it is. Plus, that hybrid tanto tip combined with a slight recurve is just a beautiful blade to behold. Excellent knife that will definitely stay with me.

It was the first Emerson I experience. Little large for my preference but an amazing knife overall

The 15 is a perfect balance of everything this kind of knife should be. Ergos are great. The blade will do everything you need it to. I carry a partially serrated model almost daily because it is just that good.
I gave this knife to my groomsmen when I got married. If I had to go back to Iraq as an infantryman, I would take this knife. The 15 is outstanding.

I have had my cqc15 for over 4 years and use it for everything. Why should you get this? It’s a beautiful mix between a bowie and a shark…. love this knife and proud to be an Emerson knives owner.
You may ask:
Is it reliable? Yup!
Sharp? For sure(cut myself on it when I first got it)
Will it hold up to anything thrown at it? It has so far… and I don’t foresee it slowing down anytime soon..

What can I say about my love affair with the CQC15…
Except that I have more of them than I should ever admit to my Wife!
Yes! I'm a CQC6 Guy! The Ultimate tactical knife! And Yes! I've had hundreds of CQC7s!
(I gave one to every student I ever had when I was teaching!)
And Yes! Both SAS and I Love the CQC8! A hungrier blade you will never meet!
But the CQC15… First, it fits my hands like Ernie made it just for me!
It is comfortable in any grip! Saber, Foil, Reverse!
And it has so many features that I love from other Emerson knives!
That Tanto point, reminiscent of the CQC7! For quick and positive penetration!
That Recurve belly, from the Commander! A Must have for cutting rope, and many other things!
Now if I could just find an HD CQC15! My CQC15 collection would be complete!
… Or would it??? Always room for one more!!!

Like the Commander, the CQC-15 is unmistakably an Emerson model which you would spot from a mile away in a knife line-up.
The tanto-recurve is amazing to behold – it is beautiful as it is effective. I have a few of these and love them all but they look especially handsome with serrations, and they are especially effective at cutting with those serrations which are spaced almost entirely across the length of the recurve section.
The handle ergonomics are fantastic and the 15 is perfect for every day carry, for defensive and for utility purposes.
The 15 has an incredibly acute tip at the front of the tanto section – it is extremely effective at stabbing, piercing, slicing, push-cutting, draw-cutting and carving / whittling. Whilst the needle sharp tanto-tip might not withstand prying or digging, the blade is strong with the spine being consistent in width from the pivot-side almost right through to the tip. An Emerson classic and an all-round amazing knife, this is the next folder to get if you don’t already have one!

I know it's been said about Emerson Knives, before, but these knives are the Glock of the knife world. They function. You can carry one and use it without thinking twice.
My first Emerson was a CQC-15BT. This experience sparked an almost obsessive desire to own more models. I even delved into the customs, which I was fortunate to acquire. At one time I owned FIVE custom CQC-15s (chisel ground) and one G10 Prototype CQC-15 (v-ground). Great all around design. Tanto tip for piercing material and a ton of sexy belly for slicing through material with draw cuts. Basically one of my favorite designs. So happy EKI decided to make a Super CQC-15 (hoping for a BT run). My only other wish would be to offer a special run of chisel ground production CQc-15s at some point. And make all of them available in BT finish, which helps prevent corrosion here in the city known for having foggy summers. Put simply, you can't go wrong with a CQC-15 as your first Emerson. Be prepared to hand over your credit card.

Simply put, this is a knife that I trust with anything. It's done everything I've asked it to do for twelve years. I've sent it back to Emerson for a little “spa day” – and it always comes back ready to do whatever I need it to. I have zero issue with recommending this knife to anyone. There is zero chance I will ever get rid of this knife. A+

I received my new CQC-15 today and could not be more pleased. G10 grip fits my hand like it was made for me, blade deploys smoothly and locks rigidly into place, and grind on SF plain blade is perfect. My Roadhouse has gone everywhere with me for years, but I like the CQC-15 even better. Excellent knife.
krrmichaels –
just about the best ”in the hand” feeling of any knife
and the blade design is insane! love the 15

I agree! Please Super size it!

So this review is long overdue. I purchased this knife in 2010 before my first deployment to Afghanistan. I will never buy another brand of knife again. This knife went through 2 infantry deployments both walking ground work and this knife held up with flying colors. From cutting open sandbags, opening mres, cutting wire, plastic jugs, digging, a ton of moisture both eater and body sweat, dust, sand, you name it. I used this knife for literally everything. To this day the blade opens butter smooth with no maintenance except blowing on it. All I ever had to do was sharpen it from time to time. I'd say once a month. But keep in mind this knife was used every single day for things that usually dull a knife within hours. This is still my dailey carry knife and it works just as good as the day I received it. If anyone is skeptical about buying one of these knives, don't be. I will NEVER own another knife brand. Thanks for an amazing 6 years Emerson. I will be back for more.

First time I saw it I knew that I had to own one! My black CQC-15 with serrations has a special place in my heart (and pocket).
Like other reviewers already mentioned I too believe there would be a market for a Supersized CQC-15.

This has been riding in my pocket for the last 2 years. I never go anywhere without it. Its been with me all over on my travels and every day life. Even has been confiscated at the Empire State Building in NYC. Who knew your couldn't carry a knife in there? Anyway It has surpassed any and all tasks I have put it up to. I have cut and stabbed things that would have destroyed any other knife. This knife has done things from fixing fire trucks to responding on emergency calls with me on a daily basis. Its not just a knife, its a life long companion. Just a great knife.
desant777 –
This is a very good knife with a blade universal form. This is my favorite!
Why this model is now available with the bones instead of a spacer? What is the reason this structural change?
The previous version with the spacer I like more.
austin littleton –
I have quite the collection of emersons. This has to be the best it is definitely my favorite. Cant agree more where's the super cqc 15?!?!?!
Adam –
I have a few emerson models, a cqc 13, etak, and the combat karambit. This is by far my favorite one! I have the stonewash with serrations. Plan on getting another one and I like it so much that I wish there was a super or an ubr version of this knife cuz I would have one or two of those as well this is hands down my favorite emerson knife and it is my favorite knife in the entire collection I have. Lets make a big brother for this guy!
Ben –
I proudly own four Emerson knives. I never leave home without a Super CQC-7 in my pocket. I don't even go out to my mailbox or cut my lawn without one of my Emersons on me. I daily carried an Emerson CQC-7 and then a Super CQC-7 for nearly two decades before I retired from the military. It was my war folding knife.
The previous poster, Blakecb posted that this knife needs to go Giant (or UBER) size. I could not agree more.
Mr. Emerson, your website correctly touts this knife as the best of both the UBR Commanders recurved blade cutting power, and the Super CQC-7 tanto piercing point. Absolutely correct, but it smaller than the Super or UBER Commander. To truly be the best of both, the CQC-15 needs to be a SUPER UBER model, 4.5″ blade. The CQB-15 Tant-Com blade is the perfect design. Best of both blades and sacrificing nothing in blade design, except size. Please make a BIG Brother of this BEST of everything knife. Black blade, partially dragon teeth serrated edge, wave feature of course, I would stand in line for it. No fancy handle needed, but fine if you offer that, Black G-10 scales are perfect for hard work. This would be the ultimate WAR knife. Or cut your way through hell knife. To borrow from a movie, with this blade super sized uber blade, if you meet the devil himself, the devil would be cut. I believe you'd sell a lot of 18 wheeler tractor trailer loads of them.
Blakecb –
I've had two 15's, sold the plain edge and currently have a Black serrated model. One of my favorites…but I honestly believe this model is screaming to go Giant Sized. I can totally see this with a massive 4.4″ blade.
Anthony –
This Emerson was my second one and it did not disappoint it is a grand slam of a knife, and like all Emerson Knives come razor sharp and feels like it was made for my hand,i will definitely order more knives form this company.
Eli Granados –
I've only had this tool for a short time and it smokes any Bench made I have ever had in my hands. Brilliant knife.
Rob Jemison –
Simply the best knife I've ever owned or carried. The blade lives up to the Emerson reputation for strength and ability to keep an edge. My favorite characteristic though is that the ergonomics are simply amazing! Love the feel of the handle and the ridges on the back side of the wave hook that keep your thumb in place. All of that in a knife that is still a size and weight to be carried comfortably everyday regardless of my location.

This was my first Emerson knife purchase. If you are looking for the perfect EDC/Tactical knife. Look no further. The recurve/tanto point is the best looking functional design I have ever come across. I also got mine with serrations to have that ripping power if i need it. Best knife made by Emerson hands down.
