We have always prided ourselves on designing and building knives for a purpose. We’ve always marched to a different drummer and we’ve never followed any trends. As a matter of fact we’ve been responsible for setting those trends again and again.
This knife, the Emerson Onyx was not designed to start any trends or even to follow any. It was designed for a purpose and that purpose was to provide a straight up pocket knife you could use and carry anytime, anyplace. It is a perfect example of what is called the Everyday Carry Knife. Comfortable in the hand, an efficient cutting design, capable of tackling all your daily chores and it just plain looks good.
Remember the story of Goldilocks and the three Bears? One porridge was too hot, one porridge was too cold and one porridge was just right. The Emerson Onyx is that Goldilocks knife. It’s just right. Try one for yourself.
KNIFE ANATOMY
BLADE STYLE: SPEARPOINT
Spear point blades are commonly referred to as ‘drop point‘. The edge curves up to the tip of the blade. We refer to Emerson Knives with spear point blades as having ‘A-Blades'.
Standoff Spacers have been standard on all Emerson Knife models since 2014. Any knife ordered from our site from that year will receive one of these models.
Lanyard Holes serve one purpose: attaching a paracord lanyard if you choose to get one. We get asked that question quite a lot!
The Thumb Button is there so that you may open the knife single handedly . Specifically with your thumb. Some people are naturals at it and some have to learn. Either way, it's very useful.
