My family bought me my first Emerson, a CQB 7 for father's day in 2000. Absolutly the best folding knife I ever had. It's replacement a CQC 7A is in my pocket right now. I would bet my life on this knife. Their is no better.

I'm not really sure what year the CQC7A (mini) came out, but bought one the first time I saw it at the Emerson table at a knife show. It became my everyday carry knife for the rest of my LE career, regardless of assignment or rank. Its a solid utilitarian knife that has certainly seen more abuse than any knife I've ever used, but it is still as useful as the day I bought it. I have several Emerson folders and a fixed blade, and this one is still my favorite and most carried.
I’ve been carying my CQC7 for about 3 months now, using it every day. I absolutely love it! If I lost it tomorrow I’d by another in a heartbeat

I have owned one of these for 8 years and it is still as good as the day I received it. he belt clip is a little worn from use but the blade still has the black coating. I use this knife almost every day and have many other knives of different sizes and shapes but this is the one I carry all the time.
