The Emerson Midnight June Bug

We had so much fun with the first runs of the June Bug that my wife suggested that we do another run with our Midnight Blue and Black Richlite handles. That was a great idea. And then she said why don’t you put our Deep Pocket Clip on them? All I can say is that she has some great ideas. And you’re going to agree when you see the result. Now like I said when we first introduced them, I don't know if cute was a word I've ever used to describe one of my knives, but in this case for the Emerson June Bug, cute seems to be a pretty appropriate description and now it’s, “Cuter than Cute.” This little knife is probably our ultimate EDC presentation. Overall, it's just under five and a half inches long. It's got a 2.3-inch blade and a 3.2-inch handle and that makes it perfect for everyday carry use. It fits snuggly down in the pocket or with the Emerson clip, it can be carried just like one of our other knives clipped to your pocket. It has a Wharncliffe-style blade with a straight, razor-sharp edge. Now, I know that I called this knife cute, and it is on the smaller side of anything we've ever done. In fact, it might be the smallest knife we've ever made, but don't underestimate its cutting performance. Don’t kid yourself, this is a real deal knife because after all, when all is said and done, it's still an Emerson.

KNIFE ANATOMY

Anatomy of an Emerson Knife

Standoff Spacers have been standard on all Emerson Knife models since 2014. Any knife ordered from our site from that year will receive one of these models.

Anatomy of an Emerson Knife Lanyard

Lanyard Holes serve one purpose: attaching a paracord lanyard if you choose to get one. We get asked that question quite a lot!

The Thumb Button is there so that you may open the knife single handedly . Specifically with your thumb. Some people are naturals at it and some have to learn. Either way, it's very useful.

I bought this knife to use with my left hand after a saw accident. It is a great knife. It is a good size for everyday use. People see it and want it. Excellent quality…

In the world of nice clips these could use a short stout stubby clip . Knife is awesome . I terminate 15k to 35 k wires with this knife . It’s my 2nd one . I hope the mini seax is coming soon . It’s the best knife for my trade for general use . Only seen them on stock once when I bought mine . June bug is a staple for me . Other than the clip.

Great little companion definitely up to bigger tasks than it looks like!

Great little everyday knife. I got one from the second run with a deep carry clip. It fits well in hand and pocket. The clip is a little awkward in hand but not uncomfortable. The detention drags and makes a squeaking noise but I'm expecting it to break in. The new deep carry clip is hot! Thicker at the top and I'm digging the rune logo. The blade fires open as a front flipper or with the disc! 10/10 would buy again! I'll buy the clip for my seven when it hits the store as well.

Needs a smaller clip. I removed the clip and just carry it loose in pocket. It’s a great little workhorse

Have been enjoying carrying and using this tool. Don’t let it’s small size fool you, it works and handles very well. The handle has that classic Emerson grippy feel. Are you planning to offer it with a slightly smaller (shorter) pocket clip in the future? At times when I go to re-pocket my June Bug there isn’t much handle to run along the pocket prior to engaging the clip.
