Some of the most feared of all the Indians of the American Old West were the Apache tribes. The most well known of these was the band of warriors led by Geronimo, a native Apache of the Bedonkohe tribe.
Geronimo was one of the last great warriors of the Indian Wars who was eventually captured on Sept 4, 1886. He was captured with a Winchester rifle, a Colt pistol and a Bowie knife.
When I designed the Emerson Apache there was something about the look and the feel, the “vibe” of this knife that said “Indian” to me. It was primitive, rough and tough. I named it the Apache. Then later I found that when Geronimo finally surrendered one of his last and most prized possessions was his Sheffield Bowie Knife.
This knife was just meant to be. When you pick it up you can almost hear the creak of well worn leather and smell the sage on a warm breeze. And you can feel the unbroken spirit of one who will fight to the bitter end.

After searching around, I was able to find one of these knives and it's by far my favorite Emerson. Scalpel sharp with an absolutely bada** blade profile. The Bowie blade lends itself very well to everyday cutting tasks, but also makes an incredibly devastating self-defense blade should thst unfortunate need arise.
Overall, this knife has replaced my other Emersons as my new EDC blade. The contours of the handle fit me well, and the knife itself is very light and nimble. A blade very much deserving of the “Apache” name, and a nice homage to some of the fiercest warriors in Native American history!

Easily the best Bowie profile EKI makes imo (and it's boo-wee, not bow- ee). Standard quality fit and finish one can expect from new production eki. No issues, solid knife that'll giter done

After 3 years of waiting and missing out on some random drops I finally got my hands on one. As a huge fan of bowie blades this thing was a must. A beaut and BRUTE of a blade! This is my 13th Emerson and I love them all but this one is special. WIthout needing to be said the ergonomics are amazing and the blade profile of just a dream. In my collection I have a clip point sheepdog and 2 appalachian that I love to pieces but this one is the perfect marriage of the two. It has a slightly longer and wider blade than the sheepdog and is wider and more forward thrusting than the appalachian. With the Appalachian being focused on hunting it has a more nimble slender grip for fine detailed cleaning but when you grab the Apache you know that this is more than just a hunting knife, it is a pure bred weapon. There is without a doubt the apache could hold up to any hunting chores but the extra beefy profile of the handle and wider blade it lets you know its here to rock n roll! If you get the chance to get one and you love bowie blades, dont even think about not getting it.

Just got mine today. Number 100 which is cool. This knife is awesome! Feels great in hand, beautiful blade and is razor sharp! Absolutley a work of art like all Emersons. Im really enjoying the signature series. Get one if you can and also consider the Appalachian in this series you wont regret either!

I just got my knife today, and the weight is nice, not too heavy or too light. The feel in hand is great. The blade came in razor sharp, I mean really sharp, which cut my finger twice when I tried to use wave feature to open, but it is good thing, right? The blade is thick and the stone wash finish on it just makes it gorgeous looking. The handle is grippy and generates a lot friction with hands. The only problem I found is that the liner lock is stiff or “sticky”, and it males my finger hurts when trying to close it. If you flip it open or use the wave feature, the lock will require you close it with two hands. But the customer service says it is normal and it will be easier with use. Overall, the Apache is a gorgeous looking knife that can serve well. I will definetly suggest buying it.

Just got my Apache! Very sleek design. The grip is comfortable and not as bulky as the Combat Bowie. The action is very smooth out the box. Another beautiful knife to add to my Signature Series collection.
