Another homerun for me. I was surprised with how well this blade shape merged with the CQC-7 handle. I may even prefer it to the standard commander! According to Emerson's spec sheet, the CPM Magnacut has been heat treated appropriately for intended use, and it has held up great so far. Edge retention is improved, the higher hardness has made burr removal during sharpening easier, and there has also been zero corrosion despite prolonged exposure to sweat, fresh and salt water. I own several Emersons and knives from other brands, but this is my new go-to model, especially for hard-use.

I have coveted Emerson knives for well over 25 years since working with an ex Army Ranger who carried an Emerson Commander.
He loved that knife and would talk about it's durability and espoused it's ergonomics, ease of use, ease of maintenance and most importantly it's overall durability.
It's a tool and he treated it as such and it NEVER let him down while in service and as a civilian.
Since then I followed and looked and always thought about getting an Emerson but as we all grow up and responsibilities, family, kids and life in general I never had the spare money to pull the trigger and buy one….. Until now!
I JUST opened the box today and pulled out the Com-Seven and boy oh boy It's beautiful!! It's everything I remember from that coworker so long ago… I can't wait to use it as it was meant to be used and report back on how it handles what I throw at it.
Build quality is excellent, fit and finish excellent, blade is razor sharp out of the box, G10 is grippy as HELL and I LOVE IT.
