Knowledge Destroys Fear: The True Path To Self Mastery. A User's Manual for Personal Safety and Security.

This book is divided into four sections. The first three sections will deal with one leg of a universal problem-solving formula. One, identify the problem, two, identify the effect, and three, define a solution. If you look at fear and all its consequences simply as a process, then we can dissect the process and through an educational sequence apply the universal problem-solving formula that I just described. For the purpose of this book, I have divided this educational evolution into four sections. Section one, “What is fear?” Section two, “Understanding Personal Safety and Security.” Section three, “The weapons against fear” and section four, “The Bonus Section.”

If you are serious about being able to look directly into the eyes of that unknown demon we call fear, and then say to him, “I do not fear you. I know who you are. I know what you are doing, and I know how to defeat you.” Then read on.
This is not a self-help book. This is a field manual and resource guide to give you the tools and the knowledge of how to conquer fear, deal with and survive dangerous events.

Everyone has experienced fear any number of times in their life. In fact, it is safe to say that anyone who says they are “fearless” or not scared of anything is one of two things. They are either mentally ill or a liar. It happens to everyone from the battle-hardened soldier to the four-year-old you need to push through the door on the first day of kindergarten.
Fear has any number of levels of severity and effects on us. They can range from getting the nervous shakes before asking a girl to the prom, the butterflies before speaking in front of a crowd, all the way to the “Oh no, I'm going to die,” when a bad guy is pointing a gun at you.

In this book, I'm going to define the term fear in a very broad sense to include everything from the level of simple apprehension and anxiety all the way to the dreadful fear of harm and death. But for the sake of results, I am going to concentrate mostly on the big fears, the more dangerous ones, because if you can learn to conquer those, then all the minor anxieties and trepidations will become mere speed bumps on the road toward a better, more fulfilling, and safer future.

Through the course of this book, we will be addressing the answers to a great number of questions and providing a problem-solving analysis formula that can be used in almost any number of difficult or anxiety-producing situations. What is fear? Like almost all things, fear is a process. It has a beginning and an end, and you will learn how to identify that process of fear and how to stop the process once it starts.

In my other books, I've written about the training, strategies, and tactics needed when dealing with the physical acts and active countermeasures applied directly against an opponent in a violent, aggressive assault or attack. In this book, I will be giving you the tools and skills – the knowledge – to recognize a threat and how to remove yourself from the process before it even starts. There is no better self-defense technique than the one that keeps you from ever having to use it. That is my goal. It is the goal of this book and the goal you should always pursue. It sounds like a Zen thing, but this statement really does sum it all up. “The best fighter is the one who never has to fight.” I hope after reading this book that it will also make sense to you.
