The American Patriot by Emerson Knives is a very special edition knife. The handles are made from the wood that came from the trees on George Washington's actual Mt. Vernon estate. Each knife comes with a commemorative George Washington coin coated with vintage gunmetal embedded in the wood handle. This was my second Emerson knife and the one that really got me interested into Mr. Emerson’s designs. It’s not to often I see bowie folders at least not with a pronounced clip as this then I came across the sheepdog and the cqc15 Wich I have yet to aquire. I own alot of high end knives from top production companies and custom makers but what I like about emerson knives is that I am not scared of putting a scratch on it because it says in the companies mission statement that these are TOOLs! This guy has been in my pocket at least three times a week for the last month and with my collection that is saying alot! The ergonomics of this knife are just fantastic the finger groove is So deep that I don’t believe I have any other knife I would rather use for self defense. And the name and background to it’s design is just as impressive as the knife it’s self. If your on the fence then take it from me if you like big folders then you will not be dissatisfied.

I have not yet had the Honor to become an Owner of this Fine Blade, but I seen the Patriot in NYCKs Nov 2013. The Blade is Outstanding; the History & Craftsmanship Mr. Emerson has put his Soul into this work of Art. I Thank you Sir for this contribution to the Best Country in the world. God Bless America
