ABOUT THE KNIVES

The Zirco-Ti Commander

This is hands down one of the most beautiful custom Commanders ever built. The Commander is a beautiful design all by itself, but when combined with black, checkered handles, black blade and a set of dazzling Zirco-Ti bolsters, the knife is drop-dead gorgeous.

In Emerson's own words, “This is the most beautiful set of bolsters I've ever put on a knife. I really had to debate on whether I should sell it or keep it.” This could be the ultimate Commander for all of you who are drawn to Commander knives. You must have won Emerson's debate because it is here and offered to you as a special Christmas gift for any discriminating Emerson collector.

The Good Intent Skull – 100% of the Proceeds Go to St. Jude

I am blessed with a family that continues to grow, 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Over the years whenever any of them got sick or weren't well I felt terrible. As any parent would do if I could wish the sickness on myself I would so that they would be better.

There are children out there that are much sicker than any of my family has ever been and I know that their parents feel the same.

Unfortunately that's not how it works. But fortunately there are those who are working to take that sickness away. St. Jude Children's Hospital is dedicated to treating and finding a cure for childhood cancer. They do the work of Angels for families and their children in fighting the terrible scourge of cancer. They need our help and yours to do so. Please be generous in bidding for this year’s Christmas Charity Item, The Good Intent Skull.

The Emerson “Good Intent” Skull is a personal gift to me from a good friend, Mr. Barry Jones. It is a 3 inch diameter disc that he hand-carved from solid titanium to show the Emerson “Bad Intent Skull.” The workmanship is amazing and he would not tell me how many hours he spent crafting them. “That's not important,” was all he said.

He actually made 2 of them for me. When he gave them to me he said “One's for you Ernie, I made it with “Bad Intent.” The other one I made with “Good Intent,” I want you to auction that one off for a good cause. I know your people will do the right thing.” And he simply turned and walked away.

This year’s “Good Intent” solid titanium skull is being donated on behalf of Barry Jones and The Order of The Black Shamrock. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy and wonderment for all children. Let's do what we can to help that happen. Please be generous.

Thank you Barry.

The Black Tactical Kwaiken with pearl handles

Like I've said before, I am a historian and a weapons maker. I am also a tactical trainer and a lifelong Martial Arts practitioner, specializing in the field of hand-to-hand combat and edged weapons. Being such, it is impossible to not be inspired, awed and influenced by the high art of Japanese weaponry and their designs. You can definitely see the influence it has had on me. I was even fortunate enough to be invited by the government of Japan to visit and work with a sword smith considered a “living treasure” in Japan.

The Emerson Kwaiken is a style I have been long been intrigued by but had never articulated as a folding knife design. Thanks to a gentle and persistent prodding by certain Internet followers (Rolph), I finally made one. I think it came out right – The Tactical Kwaiken. This will only be the fourth or fifth one I've ever made and the first super custom version. It is definitely the first all black with pearl handles. It's a real beauty and a stunning rendition of a very dramatic Japanese style.

The All Black 6

If you are an Emerson collector you know about the Emerson CQC-6, a knife that became the most sought after tactical folding knife of all times. There was a reason for it, and this All Black 6 screams out the reasons why. Dark, sinister and beautiful, this knife, in all black dress, has become a “top hat” version of this famous design.

Emerson states, “I never knew that an all black 6 would draw such attention, that was, until I built one. When I put the very first one together, I saw how truly stunning it was. It reminded me of a cross between a beautiful black Lamborghini and a stealth fighter. It still does.”

CQC-7, Full Dress Satin with Pearl

There's probably no other knife better known to both collectors and users than the Emerson CQC-7. Its role in the cutlery world is unique in that there are both custom handmade versions of the design right alongside the production version, going all the way back to the Emerson/Benchmade collaboration. I guess that's what you get when you have a custom knife maker that also owns a production company.

It is the most popular tactical folding knife design in history and was and still is the benchmark against which all other tactical folding knives are judged, both custom and production. This custom version features all satin blade, liners and bolsters set against a beautiful set of white pearl handles. A real custom beauty from the hands of master cutler Ernest Emerson.

All Black 7

I don't know if any of you follow rugby, but if you do (it's the fastest growing sport in the U.S.) you will know who the most dominate team in the sport is. It is the New Zealand All Blacks and they have been world champions several years in a row, and they are both feared and respected wherever they go and whoever they play. Known for their speed, strength and aggressive style of play, they are admired and revered throughout the world. So it is with the Emerson CQC-7 knife. A knife that has been on the ground in every world conflict for over 30 years.

It is still our best selling and most popular knife, and just like the “All Blacks” it dominates the field and is both revered and respected as a badge of honor and accomplishment by every operator, soldier, police officer or civilian who carries one in their kit. This all black 7 is dark, sinister and an elegant expression of that proud heritage.

The Gray Bulldog

There are dogs and then there is the Bulldog. Compact, strong, with an attitude and boatload of personality, the Emerson Bulldog is named for exactly those same attributes. Featuring a proven chisel-ground Tanto blade and a fully checkered ergonomic handle, all done in our storm cloud gray, this is a real pocketful of power. Compact, strong, with personality and attitude, this all gray custom Bulldog will always be by your side and ever ready to serve you at a moment's notice.

The Green 7 Flipper

This is a truly unique and rare version of the latest evolution of the iconic Emerson CQC-7 design. The Flipper version of this legendary knife is truly amazing. If you like flippers or if you like 7's, this is a must-have knife. And it is green, making it a truly unique version of this proven design.

We have had so much demand for the production version of the Flipper 7 that we are having trouble keeping up with the orders. Now you can have a super-custom handmade version of this beautiful knife from the hands and custom bench of Ernest Emerson. It is his flagship design. Grab this beautiful CQC-7 and your friends will be green with envy.

The Rhino

This is perhaps the rarest of the rare of Emerson custom knives. This knife, designed specifically at the request of the U.S. Navy SEAL teams, was originally designated the SSRT (Silent Sentry Removal Tool). It was a killing tool designed with only one purpose, and for a technique that required an upward curved shape sharpened along the topside of the blade.

Because of its sinister and singular purpose, Emerson never made these for release to the general public. That is why there are only a handful in circulation and why they have become so sought after and so coveted by Emerson aficionados.

This knife, the Rhino, nicknamed after the resemblance to a rhino's horn, is actually an “archive” knife. Built by Mr. Emerson many years ago and only made available as a special presentation in this year's Christmas auction for any of you searching for that “unobtainable” model to add to your Emerson custom collection.

All Black CQC5

Another beauty in the custom CQC family is this custom CQC5 featuring an all black blade, liners and bolsters with a dramatic look featuring white pearl handles.

The all black design makes the pearl handles really stand out, and it would be very hard to find a prettier version of a CQC5 than this one featured in this year's auction. The perfect epitome of a gentleman's tactical folder.

Black CQC-6 with pearl scales

No Emerson collection is complete without a custom CQC-6, the knife that created the tactical cutlery revolution. Featured in books, movies, TV shows, and in the hands of deadliest warriors on this planet, the Emerson CQC-6 is the knife that brought the Emerson name to the pinnacle of a custom knife-making career and carved out its place in history.

This model is the first custom CQC-6 to feature an all black blade, black liners and black bolsters set against a beautiful set of white pearl handles. This is definitely a knife of contrasts and is definitely a showstopper. No one has a CQC-6 like this-yet. You can be the first to own this stunning beauty.

All Black Hattin

You all know I'm a historian. As a result of my specialty fields of study, Mediterranean European and Near Eastern history, and also as a weapon's designer, maker and trainer. I have of course been influenced and inspired by these studies. You can definitely see the scimitar influence in a number of my knife designs.

It is a fact that the best weapons of warfare are developed as a result of those weapons being used in actual combat. The designs that worked lived on through history and the ones that didn't died on the battlefield in the hands of the user. The Hattin is a Near Eastern Arabic design named after a crucial battle during the time of the Third Crusade against the armies of Salah ad-Din Yusef (Saladin), under the shadow of the hills known as the Horns of Hattin on July 4, 1187.

This knife, with a beautiful Persian-style Damascus blade featuring all black liners, bolsters and checkered handles, traces a fighter's lineage all the way back to the dust and blood of that terrible day.

Pick this beauty up and you’ll know exactly what I'm talking about.

In addition I will be putting up some very special custom creations in the Emerson Auction site which will be running Tuesday, November 29th through Sunday, December 4th.  There will be some incredibly beautiful and unique creations up for auction. I will be posting photos and descriptions of the knives as I get them finished.
