N-SAR
Navy Search and Rescue
The Emerson N-SAR is built with a safety tip, curved blade, and Dragon's Teeth™ serrations, it is bulldog strong, razor-sharp, and also features the patented “wave shaped feature” for lightning-fast opening. This knife is the first hard-use knife ever built for EMT, Paramedic and Rescue use. It is what these professionals needed and they chose Emerson to design and build it. It is an essential tool for anyone who travels off the beaten path.
The Emerson N-SAR is issued to all US NAVY rescue swimmers and is just one of the Search and Rescue Knife Models which we offer. When the U.S. Navy needed a rescue knife they came directly to us. The SARK was designed specifically for emergency use situations where safety and effectiveness are equally important. This is an official issue rescue knife to the elite U.S. Navy Rescue Teams. It was designed according to their parameters, field tested in actual emergency conditions, and chosen just as you see it here.

I have found the N-SAR to be a tough, reliable knife as to be expected being an Emerson. The N-SAR is a great rescue tool.

I've carried this knife for about a month and a half. I've used it to cut seat belts, clothes and pry open a window to gain access to a patient. I've trusted it with other peoples lives and would not question it with my own.
